I'm using the AJ2 with a Bass guitar fitted with active pickups. When I playback my recordings through headphones the sound is distorted.What can I do to improve the Audio?

Reduce the AJ2's "Record Gain" or the guitar's volume pot/control setting.

I want to use my AJ2 to record my guitar through my effects board. How do I do this?

Simply connect the 2 x 3.5mm Stereo converter and the ¼" Mono jack plug adaptor with the supplied earphones to the AJ2. Then insert the assembly into the pedals ¼" Output socket, with the guitars cable jack inside the guitars Input socket.
Note: To optimise AJ2's playback audio, you are advised to reduce the effects pedal(s) Output settings and monitor the audio through the earphones before recording onto the device.

I'm in a band and wondered if I could use the AJ2 to record all the guys' instruments from the mixing desk?

Simply connect the 3.5mm to ¼" Stereo jack plug adaptor with the supplied earphones to the AJ2, then insert the assembly into the mixing desks ¼" audio output socket and press AJ2's record button.
Note: To optimise AJ2's playback audio, you are advised to reduce the mixing desks audio output level(s) and monitor through the earphones before recording onto the device. For further details Go-to "Record From Other Audio Source", page 8 of the On-Line AxJaK User Manual.

Do I need the USB lead to make recordings?

No. The USB lead connects between the AxJaK and a PC to transfer tracks/files/folders to/from the PC only. Recordings onto the AxJaK can only be made using the Line-In connector jack.

Will my saved files/tracks be lost if the battery fails?

No. AxJaK's internal memory will retain your work until a new battery is fitted.

How many recordings can I make with the AxJaK?

A 3 minute sample recording = 3MB of memory*.
2GB Memory capacity = 300 x 3 minute sample recordings*.
